i haven't seen "Avenue Q" but I hate it

ok, what the fuck is with Avenue Q? I know, it's not new. I know, I'm not the first to make fun of it, and I know... people love it. But a lot of people love a lot of musical theatre and most of it just gives me the creeps.

But the fucked up thing about this show is that the muppeteers that are holding them are COMPLETELY visible. Like ventriloquists, except they TOTALLY move their mouths. So it's just some guy with a puppet, and it's like they're both saying the same thing at the same time. I don't know, I don't mean to hate.. but I'm watching them on VH-1 saying oh-so-funny things and I'm just like, "ok, one or the other... why are they BOTH talking?"

It's just bad ventriloquism. I don't get it. Are broadway audiences so into being stupid that they convince themselves they're not seeing the guy doing the voice? I am unsettled. I mean dude, put a black stocking on your head or something. like, TRY, ok?
