stop thief!

oh yeah, i am so busy writing about the dumb and trivial, that I FORGET to post when something interesting happens.

So I'm at work and am totally bored out of my mind so decide to go clothes shopping. Walk out to the car and there's some guy all leaned into the car (top was down). I'm like "dude, that's not your car" He looked at me and started running. I gave chase (wearing flip flops). He threw down the stereo's faceplate (yes, I know if I'd taken it off there would be no theft in the first place) and a pair of yellow dishwashing gloves (oo high tech fingerprint prevention).

Well, he got away, went around the corner, around the block. The nice UPS driver saw me and flagged me down. He watched the guy get back into HIS own car and drive off. So he gave me the license number and description. Nothing got stolen and I got to go to the police dept instead of back to work. cops are rad. Then i went shopping.

Kinda bummed out at my slow reaction time and poor choice of footwear... even though nothing really got stolen, I just think how much more fun it would have been to beat the guy up a little bit. I would have enjoyed that.

The question is: he's obviously driving around looking for stuff to steal, if he's a professional thief, wouldn't he recognize that it's a $99 stereo? Dumb fuck. Next time it happens I will approach slowly with a baseball bat and tap him on the skull.
